Next-Gen III: PV Materials

Our international conference covers the main aspects of the science of materials and devices that are paving the road towards the highly efficient, stable organic and organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells necessary for mass production. Contributions concerning materials synthesis, photophysics, device physics, modeling and any related issues will be discussed. Our conference is sponsored by the University of Groningen, therefore we can offer very low participation fees. Students can subscribe for 100 Euro and other participants for 250 Euro. We aim to have all our food & drinks arrangements eco-friendly, using products from within the region and mostly organic! Scientific Organizers: Maria A. Loi; Ryan Chiechi; Remco Havenith; Jan Anton Koster; Kees Hummelen. Local Organizers: Maria A. Loi; Remco Havenith; Kees Hummelen. Early bird deadline 1 April 2017. Symposium 'Fundamentals of Life in the Universe'

The origin of life, on Earth and elsewhere, is a topic which fascinates the public, and which is ideally suited to bring together scientists from various disciplines. On August 31st and September 1st, a two-day symposium is being organised, called 'Fundamentals of Life in the Universe', covering a wide spectrum of topics, from planetary evolution to the fabrication of synthetic cells. The topics of the meeting are: The origin of the Earth and of life Predicting the evolution of life Building and directing life from molecule to biosphere Life in extraterrestrial environments Emergence and bridging of temporal and spatial scales Besides invited talks, the conference includes a keynote lecture by Ben Feringa (2016 Nobel laureate in chemistry), and a public lecture by Charley Lineweaver. We expect 150-200 participants from the fields of chemistry, geosciences, biology, astronomy, and physics. Participants will…
