Please register now for Connect@ARCNL and be one of the 40 NWO-employees who are going to visit this extraordinary NWO Institute. They conduct research on nanoscale and on Thursday 26 September they will show you what that looks like. That is, of course, if you can see it …

ARCNL will be our host. They have recently moved into the brand new Matrix VII building at Science Park Amsterdam. Once there, we shall jump on the vibration-free floor and check with invisible light how warm the jumping has made our faces. We will learn in what way light, physics and computer chips are connected and how fundamental physics and chemical research at ARCNL have a direct link to an application So that the semiconductor industry can produce even smaller computer chips.

Just to be clear, we are talking about nanolithography. One nanometer equals one billionth of a meter. One nanometer fits roughly four atoms. These are the sizes of the smallest future computer chips.

Only 40 can join us, so please register. If many employees from the other NWO Institutes register for this Connect meeting, we shall arrange for extra buses.

Why Connect?
During Connect meetings we learn to get to know each other within NWO. They are organised about once a month. Check the Connect calender here.  Connect meetings are organised for and by all NWO employees. This of course includes the NWO-I office, as well as all the employees at the nine NWO Institutes. Three times a year we visit an institute. So far, we have visited four: AMOLF, CWI, ASTRON and NIOZ.
