SEP working conference
After a successful working conference in October 2022, UNL, NWO and KNAW are organising another national working conference on the Strategy Evaluation Protocol (SEP) 2021-2027 on 3 June 2024 from 12:30h-17:30h in Utrecht. All research institutes and research groups at universities are evaluated once every six years by an external evaluation committee. The SEP provides guidelines for evaluating research and research policy. SEP evaluations allow boards and research units to monitor and improve the quality of research.
Purpose of this conference
The purpose of this working conference is to exchange experiences and points of interest with the updated SEP. The target audience for this working conference are policy officers involved in setting up SEP evaluations, secretaries of SEP committees and researchers with a responsibility for evaluation (heads of departments, lead authors of self-evaluation). Feel free to forward the invitation to interested researchers at your own institute.
Sharing experiences and concerns
The SEP 2021-2027 was adopted in 2020 and puts more emphasis on the role of the strategy of research groups and institutes. In addition, developments in the areas of Recognition and Appreciation and Open Science have also been integrated into the SEP. The past three years have seen experiences in evaluating research institutes and research groups. High time to share experiences and points of attention! We will also include these in the run-up to the drafting for the new SEP of 2027-2033.
