News from the works councils (October 2022)

The group works council NWO-I (GOR NWO-I) has received requests for advice on the first five domains within the Development Operations NWO-I programme. Written questions have already been submitted and analysis has been carried out with the local councils. Based on this analysis and responses to the questions, the GOR NWO-I expects to issue its advice in the second half of October. After completing these five advice trajectories, the GOR NWO-I expects to receive and process requests for advice from the other domains.
The Central Works Council of NWO (COR NWO) expects the request for advice on the NWO-I governance change to be on the table soon. In addition, the COR NWO has recently published the 2021 annual report on the NWO-I website.

Development Operations NWO-I

The group works council NWO-I (GOR NWO-I) has now received requests for advice on the first five domains within the dossier Development Operations NWO-I. The domains in question are Strategic Support, Communication, Accommodation & Facilities Management, Health & Safety and Environment, and Legal Affairs & Privacy.

We have already taken various steps to ensure that we can provide good advice. For example, we have submitted a number of written questions to the Executive Board representative and the local councils were invited to a working meeting on 13 September. At the meeting, a PIN analysis was conducted for each domain in order to clarify positive points (P), points of interest or concern (I), and negative points (N). This analysis will serve as the basis for the actual advice to be written by the GOR NWO-I. We currently expect to issue these opinions in the second half of October.

After completing these five advice trajectories, we expect to receive requests for advice on ICT & Security, Finances & Control, Procurement, and Personnel & Organisation. We will also organise another working meeting with the local councils to draft opinions on these plans. By doing this, we hope to gather input from every corner of the organisation. So if there is anything you would like to share with us, please contact the GOR NWO-I or your local council.

News from the COR NWO

Consultation meeting

On 30 August, the Central Works Council of NWO (COR NWO) spoke with Executive Board representative Caroline Visser. There are no requests for advice and consent at the moment, so the meeting was mainly about giving updates. For example, we talked about the upcoming NWO-I governance change, progress on setting up a climate institute, and the NWO annual report for 2021. The next consultation meeting is scheduled for 25 October, when we expect the request for advice on the NWO-I governance change to be on the table.

COR annual report 2021
