In recent months, the Central Works Council’s NWO (COR NWO) negotiating delegates and the employers NWO and NWO-I have been working hard to reach agreement on new implementation regulations (IR). Employee survey within all NWO-I unitsIn March, everyone will receive a questionnaire at the same time |
At the end of March, all NWO-I employees will receive an invitation to take part in an employee survey (Dutch abbreviation: MOZ). This is the first time such a survey will take place simultaneously throughout the entire organisation. The aim is to obtain a picture of how we experience our work. We believe it is important that for all NWO-I units, our people feel committed to their work and can make a contribution in a good and pleasant working environment. An environment that they experience as both safe and challenging. We will use the outcomes from the employee survey to provide further direction to fulfil our role as a good employer and for an appropriate and future-oriented personnel policy and the organisation's development. |

NWO-I starts an awareness campaign about information security, privacy and knowledge securityHandling knowledge and information with greater care |
NWO-I houses a lot of important knowledge and information that everybody should deal with carefully. The organisation needs to be on the lookout for phishing mails (false emails from criminals that lure you to scam websites) and possible hacking attempts. Therefore an awareness campaign has started within the organisation to positively change the behaviour of all NWO-I employees with regard to information security, privacy and knowledge security. This must lead to greater information security for the organisation. |

Highlight DIFFER – Green kerosene from water and air |
![]() |
Making aircraft fuel from water and air? Yes, that is now possible, with just several well-considered chemical ingredients and processes powered by green electricity. A European project from 2022 has proved that the processes work. NWO-I Institute DIFFER developed an important part: a plasma reactor that splits carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide and oxygen at a high temperature. In a subsequent step in the process, the carbon dioxide is extracted, and the remaining pure carbon monoxide flows to a reactor where it reacts with hydrogen. The result of that combination is the basis for green kerosene. DIFFER estimates that by about 2030 it should become possible to make the leap and industrialise the process with a plant at an offshore wind park. |
