New Collective Labour Agreement 2021
Salary increase, paternity leave and bereavement leave are important subjects in the new Collective Labour Agreement Research Institutes 2021. The Employers’ Association Research Institutes (WVOI) and the trade unions FNV, CNV Overheid and AOb reached a final agreement about this on 24 March with the approval of the trade union members.
The following agreements have been made:
- The collective labour agreement will be effective from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2021.
- The salaries will be increased by 1.4% with effect from 1 January 2021. With the salary payment of April the salary increase as from 1 January 2021 will be paid retroactively.
- If a partner takes additional and unpaid paternity leave, the employer will supplement the benefit of 70% of the daily salary to 100% of the maximum daily salary. The employer will also continue to pay the pension premium on the basis of fully paid leave. During this paternity leave the standard accumulation of leave will continue.
- In consultation with the works councils, the employers will draw up a bereavement leave protocol. The parties have agreed that this protocol will describe the possibilities for bereavement leave within the already existing frameworks for the leave provisions in the collective labour agreement. Employees must receive the possibility to take at least one week of unpaid leave following the burial or cremation of a first or second degree relative.
