ERG Neurodiversity

The recently established NWO/NWO-I Employee Resource Group (ERG) Neurodiversity invites employees who identify with neurodiversity to join this network.

Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of our brains, which varies from person to person and is a natural part of human variation. About twenty percent of people process information significantly different than average. (Technically they are neurodivergent, but we'll stick to the more widely used term 'neurodiverse'.) The umbrella term covers a wide variety of brain structures, and associated experiences. At NWO/NWO-I we use a broad definition of neurodiversity, not limited to stereotypical cases. (If you're curious about this group but you're unsure if or how you fit in: there's a place for you here, and you are welcome to join.)

Our mission is to create a culture where the unique talents and strengths of employees are recognised and valued. We focus on three main pillars:

  • Building a support network for neurodiverse colleagues.
  • Raising awareness about neurodiversity through interesting activities such as lectures.
  • Promoting systemic change within the equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policy of NWO/NWO-I.

Our ultimate goal is to create a working environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
