ERG Neurodiversity

The recently established NWO/NWO-I Employee Resource Group (ERG) Neurodiversity invites employees who identify with neurodiversity to join this network.

Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of our brains, which varies from person to person and is a natural part of human variation. About 20% of people think differently than average; we call this neurodivergent. This umbrella term covers various forms of brain structures, including diagnoses such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. At NWO/NWO-I, we use a broad definition of neurodiversity, which includes, for example, high sensitivity and introversion.

Our mission is to create a culture where the unique talents and strengths of employees are recognised and valued. We focus on three main pillars:

  • building a support network for neurodiverse colleagues
  • raising awareness about neurodiversity through interesting activities such as lectures
  • promoting systemic change within the equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policy of NWO/NWO-I

Our ultimate goal is to create a working environment where neuro-diversity is central and everyone can reach their full potential.
