Successful LGBTIQA+ event examines role of ERGs for more inclusion at NWO/NWO-I

Purple Friday at NWO-I 2023

Last year, Purple Friday fell on Friday 8 December 2023. It is a day to express solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community by wearing purple-coloured clothing.  Several NWO Institutes also celebrated Purple Friday. Read more

 

Rainbow flags flying at NWO/NWO-I during Coming Out Day 2023

On wednesday 11 October 2023  NWO/NWO-I celebrated Coming Out Day by flying the rainbow flag at all NWO Institutes and the offices in Utrecht and The Hague. This year, NWO-I colleague David van Walderveen (policy officer DIFFER) wrote a personal column about Coming Out Day.

NWO looks back on successful Pride Event 2023

On Monday 8 May 2023, a successful Pride event for entire NWO organisation, including the NWO Institutes, was held at SRON in Leiden. The participants were welcomed by SRON's institute's manager Annemieke Beers and CWI's HR manager and organizer Léon Ouwerkerk. Read more

Judith Kreukels is the Diversity & Inclusion project leader (2023)

Roll out Implementation Plan 2022 - 2027 'Inclusive and diverse personnel policy at NWO-I'

In October 2022, NWO-I set down an Implementation Plan for an inclusive and diverse personnel policy at NWO-I. The plan targets NWO-I in its entirety and will be rolled out within the organisation in the coming years. Read more

Gender Equality Plan NWO-I (2022)

NWO facilitates world-class scientific research. This research has scientific and societal impact. One aspect of this is encouraging an inclusive science culture with an eye to diversity in the broadest sense of the term. In doing so, the Executive Board is following the gender equality objectives of the European Union and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Declaration of Amsterdam: towards an inclusive workplace (2021)

On 18 November 2021 NWO signed the Declaration of Amsterdam, committing the organisation to creating a corporate culture that is inclusive and fosters the integration of LGBTI+ employees.  Read the full article
