Trade union month: join in September and receive €100 reimbursement from NWO-I
September is “Trade Union Month”. This means that employers will be paying extra attention to trade union membership. If you join one of the participating trade unions (FNV, CNV or AOb) in September, NWO-I will reimburse you €100 net of your first annual membership fee.
A trade union is an organisation of employees who unite to represent their collective and individual interests in the workplace. Trade unions negotiate with employers on collective labour agreements (at NWO-I, this is the Collective Labour Agreement Research Institutes, CAO-OI) for fair wages and good working conditions, offer legal assistance and advice, and influence politics to achieve better legislation for employees. The main trade unions represented at NWO-I are the FNV, the CNV and the AOb. These organisations represent employees at NWO, NWO-I and the Royal Library.
Become a member in September and receive a discount
If you are an employee and join one of the three trade unions involved (FNV, CNV or AOb) in September, NWO-I will reimburse you €100 net of your first annual membership fee. At the end of the collective labour agreement period, employee organisations will report back to employers on how effective this agreement has been in attracting members to the trade unions.
How does trade union membership work?
Employees who are members of a trade union have the option of having their trade union membership fee deducted from their gross salary and paid out net. You can read more about trade union membership via Youforce (under AVOM/trade union membership).
