Online lunch lecture on neurodiversity
On Tuesday 18 June, from 12 to 1 p.m. NWO/NWO-I is organising the online lunch lecture “Neurodiversity at Work.” We are organizing this lunch lecture as part of Neurodiversity Pride Day on June 16 (Sunday). The lunch lecture focuses on experiences with neurodiversity in the workplace and tips and tricks to make the workplace more neuro-inclusive.
What is neurodiversity? Our brains are all different. Neurodiversity is an umbrella term that explains the concept that people experience and interact with the world in different ways. It is often used synonymously with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. These are forms of neurodivergence.This lecture is the second in a series on this topic. During this lecture, two speakers will share their insights and experiences:
- Arnout Nederpelt is Chief Ambassador of Atypical, the neurodiversity network at ASML. Arnout has autism and only after three years of applying without success, he was hired at ASML with the help of a job coach. He decided to share his experiences and challenges and help others.
- Katalin Clarijs is Policy Officer at SGW-VOW (NWO-D) and a member of the OR. She will talk about theories and treatments in ADHD, how she got through her college years and her own experiences.
