Workshop basic coding skills (Shell, Git and Python) at VU & onlineThe VU, UvA, AUMC, HvA, and NWO-I are organizing a Software Carpentry workshop that will help programming novices to gain fundamental software skills. The Software Carpentry workshop is a hybrid 4-half-day, hands-on training that will cover task automation via Shell (December 4-5), version control with Git (December 4-5), and basic programming and data visualization with Python (December 2-3) and will be held at VU and online.

Advanced Git workshop - Save the date: 21 & 22 January 2026 at CWIThe recent DCC training need assessment survey showed a strong interest in more in-depth training in version control and collaborative development workflows. In response, the DCC is launching an Advanced Git workshop as a follow-up to the Software Carpentry (Shell, Git, Python) training. This pilot workshop will focus on more advanced Git techniques for working effectively in shared codebases. Participants will explore practical strategies for branching, merging, reviewing changes, and managing contributions in team projects. A detailed schedule and topic overview will be announced soon.
